We Can’t Do It On Our Own

I'm glad that I don't have to worry about my future like some do. Some have to create a plan A, B, C, and so on for their future goals. But if you’re a Christian, God is in control of your future because surrendering to Him and agreeing to follow His plans for you will not only reassure you that our future is bright, but that He is using you to fulfill His overall plan on Earth. Things fall perfectly into place, for our good and His glory, so we can be blessed and be a blessing to others as they receive salvation and encouragement through our lives. However, the Holy Spirit is the One who guides us in our Christian walk and helps us follow God’s will. After I became a Christian, it took me a long time to realize that no one can do God's will by themselves. Yielding to the Holy Spirit every day allows us to do God's will and be a blessing to people because they see Jesus’ character through us. Yielding is not always easy and sometimes you may want to avoid it, but you can ask the Holy Spirit to give you the desire to be led by Him. I’ve heard the word “holy” used many times not only to describe God, but to describe how Christians should live. It seems intimidating and discouraging if you compare the word with your life without knowing what it actually means. Holiness is not perfection or a Christian trying to act Christ-like. Holiness is allowing the only Holy Being to teach you how to live the best life you possibly can; one filled with good morals, decisions, and purpose. God wants your life to be fulfilling and leave a lasting mark on the world as you live for Him with Him because nothing God does (including in your heart) is fleeting.

Verses: Jeremiah 29:11 NLT, Galatians 5:16 NLT

“For I know the plans I have for you, ‘ says the Lord. ‘They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.“ (Jeremiah 29:11 NLT)

“So I say, let the Holy Spirit guide your lives. Then you won’t be doing what your sinful nature craves.“ (Galatians 5:16 NLT)
